IFPUG released the new SNAP (Software Non-Functional Assessment Process) method, aimed to size the non-functional side of a software application. From FPA creation on, NFRs (Non-Functional Requirements) were typically dealt as “Requirements of a Lesser God”, while they represent simply a different and complementary contribution to a project than FURs (Functional User Requirements). This paper will try to introduce the rationale and tips for measuring the non-functional productivity and use it jointly with the ‘functional’ one in order to obtain more reliable estimates for next projects.
